Mon, 12 October 2009 **Headphones suggested**Join myself and Superdry as we make our way through the streets of Hong Kong and onto the metro system headed to Sunny Bay Station which connects to the Hong Kong Disneyland line. The one and only stop, of course, is Hong Kong Disneyland. Afterwards, I make my exciting steps onto property thus marking the end to my Disney Park World Tour. Looking back, I visited all 11 of the Disney Parks across the world in under a years time. Here is a run down of that busy year of travel: May 08 - Disneyland (2 parks) July 08 - Tokyo Disney (2 Parks) Sept 08 - WDW (4 Parks) Oct 08 - Disneyland Paris (2 Parks) Dec 08 - WDW Jan 09 - WDW April 09 - Tokyo Disney / *Hong Kong Disneyland* So there you have it. All Disney parks on Earth in less than 12 months. It's far from an impossible feat but, dare I say, a dream come true for a Disney park fan *cough* dork. Hong Kong Disneyland is a small park which most would consider a "half day" park attraction wise. What it lacks in the realm of attractions, it makes things up with some of the most beautifully landscaped grounds and surroundings. The spit and polish witnessed at the park itself is just as impressive as the Tokyo Disney Resort. However, the "newness" of this park mixed with the culture leaves things feeling a little sterile, empty, and there is much room (literally) for improvement. During this podcast you will experience most of the park's attractions with us, STORIES ABOUT HOOKERS, an edited portion of their daytime parade called Disney on Parade, and various other Meanderings. It's most interesting to spend an entire day Meandering with us at this somewhat odd Disney Park. It was an interesting experience which left a handful of things to be desired. Overall, I do have high hopes for this Disney destination in the future. It's a promising Disney park located in one of the most amazing destinations in the East. Got ya wondering about the hookers, don't I? LOL podcast@meanderingmouse.com Flickr: flickr.com/photos/meanderingmouse twitter: meanderingmouse plurk: meanderingmouse Have fun and Enjoy! Wed, 16 September 2009 Well, it certainly has been awhile since I've produced a podcast. Life
has twisted and turned in so many directions since my last show, I can
hardly keep my head on straight. Hell, my old friend Burnt Toast
doesn't even live on the left coast anymore. What's the world coming to?After completing my Disney Park world tour last April with my visit to Hong Kong, the world, for me, quickly took on new meaning. I'll start the show off with a short blurb in regards to why the show has run silent over the past handful of months, discuss changes going on with The DPN for those that haven't heard, and then get on with some classic audio meanderings taken in Tokyo. This show features myself and Superdry out at Tokyo Disneyland one early morning as the madness of the grand opening of Monster's Inc. Ride and Go Seek takes place. We rush into the park after the gates open and encounter a massive line winding thru the park just to get a fastpass for the highly anticipated new attraction. About nine hours later, we actually get on the attraction for the first time and, of course, take you along for the ride. podcast@meanderingmouse.com Flickr: flickr.com/photos/meanderingmouse twitter: meanderingmouse plurk: meanderingmouse Comments[25] |
Wed, 10 June 2009 Before getting to my Hong Kong Disneyland in park audio experience, I
wanted to catch up and do a proper trip report with Joel in regards to
our Paris journey. This trip saw me completing 10 of the 11 Disney
parks worldwide while Joel fulfilled his dream of visiting all 11 of
the Disney parks around the globe. During this LONG show (3+ hrs), we
go through a day by day account of both our Paris city adventures and,
of course, our Disneyland Paris Resort adventures. We review
attractions, meals, go over travel tips, and offer our perspective up
over what was one long, challenging, but amazing journey. I splice in a
few audio clips from the parks to spice things up.Check out The Meandering Mouse Flickr Stream for photo sets of Paris and The Disneyland Paris Resort: http://www.flickr.com/photos/meanderingmouse/ And Joel's Flickr Stream for his Paris photo sets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/frikitiki/ Website at: www.meanderingmouse.com Email: podcast@meanderingmouse.com Discuss at The Disney Podcast Network: www.thedpn.com Comments[75] |
Mon, 13 April 2009 This is a MEGA TRIP REPORT done by myself and Superdry which includes
live audio taken in Tokyo spliced into the format. This baby clocks in
at over 3 hrs in length. The Meandering Mouse has been on hiatus. What
better way to get back into the swing of things than with a heavy dose
of Meandering goodness. This show serves as a trip report for my July of 2008 Tokyo trip but was recorded live in Tokyo as of this posting. We wanted to share our experiences of our last trip as we embarked upon a new one. Superdry and I talk about every day we spent in Tokyo during the Summer of 2008 in great detail while I include audio taken from the trip. So, join us in our discussion and experience the fun with us through the magic of audio. You'll enjoy train rides in Tokyo proper, Taxi rides, and even an interview with a Tokyo Disney fan website creator. This show is packed with interesting material and I think you'll really enjoy it. Look forward to more audio as I complete my Disney park world tour within the next week. Have fun and Enjoy! Join myself, DPN'er Superdry, and Matt from Dallas as we meander around Tokyo's DisneySEA one morning. This show features a journey to the park aboard the Resort Liner, a Journey Into the Center of the Earth, and a journey under the sea with Ariel and friends. It took me 3 trips to Tokyo to finally experience one of the top stage shows at the resort. Join me and my friends at DisneySEA's Mermaid Lagoon Theater as we experience "Liquid Theater." To be truthful, I didn't expect much from the Mermaid Lagoon Theater. As per usual at the Tokyo Disney Resort, I was pleasantly surprised. What I found inside was one of the most impressive special effects oriented stage shows Disney has ever produced. The costumes were stunning, the stage rigging and props were beyond impressive, and the sound was filled with live singing by Ariel herself. Overall, it was a wonderful morning at DisneySEA and you are along for the ride. attractions inside. One of my favorite and most underrated Disney
attractions, Cranium Command, is featured on this show:From Doug: In this show, we take a virtual meander through a now extinct pavilion - and it's not Horizons. This pavilion is used for special events and exhibits, but its original form was truly one of fun and learning. Wed, 23 July 2008 *HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED*Photos Taken by The Meandering Mouse in Tokyo - found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/meanderingmouse - Check them out! This show will open with an in-park recording of Tokyo's special 25th Anniversary Theme Song. I was captivated by this song during my entire Tokyo Disney experience. They played this song throughout the parks on many occasions especially after parades and shows. Unfortunately, the CD single of this song I purchased in the park came only in Japanese and doesn't sound nearly as enchanting. The clapping you hear is coming from guests as each of the Fab Five passes in front of Lido Isle on floats to conclude DisneySEA's Legend of Mythica. Listen closely to the girl FREAKING OUT when Minnie waved to her. It was an oddly funny moment and insight into how serious the Japanese are over the Disney Characters. And for the main portion of the show....Join myself, Superdry, and Matt from Dallas for a relaxing morning at Tokyo Disneyland. We first take in, arguably, one of Disney's best attractions with Pooh's Hunny Hunt. Then we head over to the Haunted Mansion which is oddly located in Fantasyland along with Pooh. To finish things off, we take in my favorite version of Splash Mountain in Tokyo's Critter Country. Overall, it's a well-rounded offering of Tokyo e-ticket attractions. Head over to The DPN and pay a visit to our newest official DPN podcaster. I'd like to welcome Keegan from The Adventures of a Teenage Disney Geek Podcast to The DPN Roster. Tue, 15 July 2008 At Toyko DisneySEA, there an attraction that I consider to be one of my favorite attractions across all of the nine Disney parks that I have visited globally. In the Arabian Coast section of the park is Sindbad's Storybook Voyage. It's a boat ride like Pirates of the Caribbean or Small World and some people have compared it to Small World. The comparison ends at it being a boat ride, though. While it might look like small dolls, they are full animatronic figures with great motion capabilities. When Jeff and I visited in June 2007, the ride had just come off of rehab. The imagineers had given the attraction a new storyline. Alan Menken of "Little Mermaid" along with Glen Slater created the song "Compass of your Heart" which follows you throughout your voyage with SIndbad and his loyal tiger cub, Chandu. I was fully captivated by the ride. Mermaids, genies, thugs, giant birds, dancing monkeys...this attraction has it all! It is fully original, the song is catchy, the sets are detailed, and the animatronic figures are amazing (just watch for the belly dancers!). Too bad they didn't sell Chandu plushes. Before we take the ride, you get to see some of the Oasis area of the Arabian Coast that is next to the Lost River Delta. This area was seen briefly in MMCTV EP0111, Musica Mexicana. Playing in the background is the Port Theme Song for the Arabian Coast which is taken from the Tokyo DisneySEA 5th Anniversary Music Album CD. (http://www.amazon.com/Tokyo-Disney-Sea-Anniversary-Celebration/dp/B000GPIHQ8). Special thanks to Jeff for letting me use some of his pictures of the attraction in the video. Tue, 17 June 2008 **RATED PG - Made for Headphones**My good buddy Quenton (Q) and I visited Tokyo for 9 days about 8 months ago. We, of course, spent some good time at the Tokyo Disney resort but also had many weird and wonderful experiences across the Tokyo landscape. We share a somewhat rambling day to day account of our adventures but tie in our experience with staying at The Mira Costa, one of Disney's most luxurious resorts (if not the most luxurious), with DPN'er Superdry's odd letter writing bout with the same hotel. Superdry loves The Mira Costa but has one huge problem with the place. Quenton and I discovered the same problem which led to one the wackiest nights out on the streets of Japan. I am even pretty sure we terribly broke the law by accident. Superdry's first letter of concern and return correspondence with the The Mira Costa occurred a full year ago. A promise was made to occur one year later so he sent another follow-up letter this year. Yesterday Superdry received another letter from the Japanese people at the hotel. The letter has remained unopened until the recording of a segment to be included in this show. We head to one of Houston's weirdest Japanese Karaoke bars called Genji, have some Japanese beers, record Superdry's story, and finally open the letter he received via air mail to see what their response to the second of his zany letters may be. This will be an interesting and long show. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the website! Sun, 8 June 2008 Meandering Mouse Club TV - Disney Park Video Adventures from Around the World! Disney's New DVC Resort Hawaii Site Footage. Produced in association with Frikitiki Productions. After it was announced in October 2007 that The Walt Disney Company was going to build a new Disney Vacation Club resort in Hawaii, Joel went out to the site in Oahu and took some video of the plot of land and surrounding area so you can see where the resort is going to be built. Well....This is the footage and give you a little tour. If you happened to have seen Joel's Chief Magic Official video entry, there is some footage of the area in that video too. In the video the degrees, minutes and seconds coordinated are given so you can put them into Google Earth and get a satellite view. Here's hoping that they put in an Adventures Club into the resort. Give it a South Pacific theme and boo-ya, we might have a winner! During the same time frame the Lion King touring company was in Hawaii for a 13 week run (according to Disney this was the longest stay in any one city for one of the traveling tour companies) and they put some of the masks from the show on public display outside of the area of the concert hall where they were performing. You'll get to see them close up. For show feedback you can send e-mail to mmctvpodcast at gmail.com. Sat, 31 May 2008 **Made for Headphones**I begin this show with some post Westfest talk with a special guest. The main portion of this show truly is a stream of consciousness. Classic Meanderings...just things sorta unfolding around me and you all are along for the ride. Follow me into Disneyland on a Saturday Morning for the first official Westfest day as DPN podcasters and fans gather at Carnation Plaza to grab schwag, reunite with old friends, make new friends, and kick off Westfest. Chris from The Big D and I also take a ride on Alice in Wonderland after hearing that a cast member running the attraction is a fan of our shows. Tue, 20 May 2008 Meandering Mouse Club TV - Disney Park Video Adventures from Around the World! First Entry into HONG KONG DISNEYLAND. Produced in association with Frikitiki Productions.Well, there has been some feedback that asked to show more of the Hong Kong park. Join me as we walk from the park's entry sign up through Sleeping Beauty's castle. We make a short stop into the exhibit in the Opera House. What was interesting about the display is that Disney is a new entity in that part of the world. While we grew up with Disney, they didn't so the Opera House is set up to tell guests about Disney the man and the Company. You'll see the two shows and some of the displays inside. I hope you enjoy the show! For the contest, I'm making it really simple. In the video I talk in front of a water feature, tell me who it is in the feature and what they are on. Send your answer to mmctvpodcast (at) gmail.com by 11:59pm HST on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The prize will be the limited print henley shirt that has the embroidery in the front and the print in the back. Wed, 7 May 2008 **Made for Headphones****PG-13 WARNING** The Meandering Mouse is back with a bang after being on hiatus for a handful of weeks! The MM show and The DPN all started with an email to the Trapped on Vacation podcast. I wrote in telling the host, now known as Earl, that I would be taking my first steps into Disneyland and would experiment by sending him some audio of my experience. He played the audio of my first steps into the park and my podcasting adventure began. Soon after that, I founded The Disney Podcast Network. We now come full circle just before The DPN's Westfest 2008 begins with myself following Earl and his Bleepin' Wife into Disneyland as they take their very first steps down Main Street. The reactions are captured here and I won't soon forget the moment I had with my close friends. Earl was recording his experience as well so you will hear him narrating his show as I narrate mine. It's quite interesting if not a bit odd. I also throw in some highlights of meeting up with a large number of DPN'ers for the first time during this year's Westfest. There are good vibes all around as I'm re-united with friends right before almost a dozen of us take a ride on The Matterhorn. The show closes with my experience on Disneyland's submarine voyage with a few fellow DPN'ers. Thu, 10 April 2008 The Meandering Mouse has been buried in moving boxes for the past few
weeks. Thus, Jeff from Houston is on hiatus. Luckily, Doug turns in
another amazing sound seeing experience as he shares with us his recent
Disneyland Paris experience full of his personal audio from the park.
This show will only contain Doug's audio production...no intro by
me...no audio bumpers...we just get on with the show. Thanks for the
patience as I deal with a major change in my life.-Jeff from Houston ********************************* In this episode Doug (aka DisneyParkHopper) concludes his trip report from visiting the Disneyland Paris Resort last summer. This time, he will cover the Disneyland Paris Park. This trip report will include plenty of ambient park audio and audio sightseeing commentary. It will also include full ride thrus of the Fantasyland suite, as well as pirates of the Caribbean and phantom manor. Enjoy this glimpse into one of the most beautiful magic kingdom's in the world. Sat, 1 March 2008 **Made for Headphones**Join myself and DPN'er Lorien aka Auntie Lo aka The Queen of The DPN Island as we go over our February of 2008 Walt Disney World trip. Fun was had by all but, oddly enough, we didn't bother riding much at all during the entire week. It just goes to show that being with good friends at the Disney parks causes the attractions to take a back seat to the good times you can have simply spending time with loved ones. This one clocks in at about 2 hours so get comfortable. Have fun and enjoy! Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the website! Wed, 21 November 2007 *PG-13 WARNING* *Headphones R Good!* Happy Turkey Day for Those Listeners that Celebrate the Holiday! We start this show with an oldie but goodie edition of The Penny Press. In fact, I think it's the funniest one the guys have produced as they answer an actual DPN'er email during IMHO. Be forewarned though, this one is a little edgy. PG-13 for sure. Soooo, open your mind, your ears, and just freakin laugh or I'll sic monkey on yo bottom. Next up, follow Q and I into Tokyo Disneysea as Q gets his first taste of the Tokyo parks. This is an odd meandering because the commentary was completely natural and, uhh, almost silent. Q had lost his ability to speak once he walked into Disneysea and rightfully so. Disneysea is the type of place that truly knocks the wind out of you when you first see it. So expect this meandering to start off a but slow as we move into the park. You'll get to enjoy some of the ambiance with us and laugh at Q when he starts sounding drunk and unable to form sentences. After the initial walk into the park, you'll come along for the following: -An Inebriated dunk on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Equally Drunk Sea Monkey Aliens -Q's first ride on one of my very favorite Tokyo Disney attractions - Sinbad's Storybook Voyage To end the show, we continue with another edition of the Penny Press because I don't want monkey pooping on my lawn for falling behind. Tue, 11 September 2007 EPCOT is a theme park like no other on earth and
is celebrating it's 25th year this Fall. Disney saw fit not to greet
this landmark with fanfare typical of this type of event in the parks
so we in the Disney fan community have chosen to acknowledge the EPCOT
legacy on our own. This edition of The Meandering Mouse will reflect
upon EPCOT's story. Millions of people from around the world have
graced it's pavement and attractions over the last 25 years and the
park has an interesting history to present. In this show, I will reflect upon EPCOT along with sharing my personal thoughts and feelings over the park in celebration of it's birthday. Special guests for this show will be doing the same: -Lou Mongello from WDW Radio shares what makes the park special for him -DPN'er and MMCTV producer, Joel (Coconut Wireless), shares many details about his stint as a cast member working at EPCOT back in it's golden years of the late 80's. -DPN'er Artjaro shares his thoughts and feelings over the park as a former cast member at the Disney resort. As the main feature of the show, Doug aka Disneyparkhopper has prepared a spectacular "backstage meandering" through spaceship earth. We look at the backstory, history, and evolution of spaceship earth. The beginning of this piece will also present some EPCOT history since Spaceship Earth is the icon of this 25 year old theme park jewel. Comments[12] |
Fri, 31 August 2007 Meandering Mouse Club TV - Disney Park Video Adventures from Around the World!n this episode of Meandering Mouse Club TV join Joel, Coconut Wireless from the DPN boards and the man behind Frikitiki productions, as he explores Disney’s newest Asia park: Hong Kong Disneyland. Starting along Main Street USA and heading into Fantasyland, take in the sights before heading over to Adventureland that has been captured and over run by pirates. See how the pirates have “decorated the place now that they now control. Maybe a jungle river cruise will relax us first before we attempt to get past more pirates to get back to the safety of Main Street USA. Sun, 15 July 2007 Tokyo Trip Report Round Table Discussion - PART 1 - DisneySea.
Join myself and two very special guests as we provide a trip report of The Meandering Mouse tour of the Tokyo Disney Resort. Joel / Coconut Wireless from MMCTV and Jesse from The Mousepod podcast join in on this round table discussion which tells the tale of our overseas journey to some fascinating Disney parks. Mr. Mousepod himself makes a perfect addition to the conversation as he is a two time visitor of the Tokyo parks. Jesse's perspective livens things up a bit as he relates to my experience along with Joel's. This show had to be split into two parts as it ran close to 4 hours. Part 2 of the report will be posted one week after this episode has posted. I've had a ton of emails pour in with people asking to hear a personal take on our travels. Fri, 6 July 2007 This very special episode was filmed at Tokyo's
Disneyland park and features the quite new Electrical Parade called
Dream Lights. This was the most amazing electrical parade I've laid
eyes on, includes the latest technology, and has that wonderful
soundtrack we all know and love: Baroque Hoedown. This is a parade
nether myself Joel, Saul, or Beaker will never forget. Join us on this episode of Meandering Mouse Club TV for a night time adventure in a far off land! Produced in association with Frikitiki Productions. Many thanks to Joel aka Coconut Wireless on The DPN forums for all his hard work in Tokyo and Hong Kong as we both did our best to document the parks overseas. Tue, 19 June 2007 As my send off to a far, far away land and the
mysteries of The Orient, join Doug (aka DisneyParkHopper) on another
virtual journey thru Tokyo. This time he takes us to a somewhat benign
area of The Tokyo Disneyland Resort: Ikspiari. His soundseeing
adventure will take on a creative twist and is sure to entertain. Enjoy
your tour of "Shops Lost in Translation."
To end the show, join Doug on a tour of a beloved extinct attraction: Disneyland's Peoplemover. Doug's tour quickly gets derailed by an old friend. This segment was produced for the Westfest Banquet Dinner. However, the sound system at the event choked during playback. Therefore, I am presenting it here on The Meandering Mouse in quality sound since it wasn't really heard properly by anyone. Sun, 6 May 2007 *HEADPHONES A MUST FOR THIS ONE - Rated PG** This show features my classic styled in park meanderings taken live during my Disneyland Westfest trip. I literally had less than 4 hours in the parks alone over the course of 7 days due to all the social engagements at Westfest. I gathered very little usable audio. However, one morning, I used my 3 day Parkhopper for early morning entry into Disneyland and I take you along for the entire Fantasyland Dark Ride Suite and a little more. Afterwards, I meander over to The DPN's Westfest first scheduled event for the 07 gathering....the meet and greet at Plaza Gardens. Sat, 21 April 2007 *PG - Headphones Suggested* On this somewhat sarcastic episode of The Meandering Mouse, I take you along with me as I discover some of those "not so awesome" attractions and park moments around The Disneyland Resort. You know, those things in the park that simply leave you feeling flat and worthless kinda how those souvenir Penny Presses leave your hard earned money feeling. Not to worry though....I do leave you with some park sounds that are sure to make you feel fat and sassy. Afterall, it can't all be bad.To end the show, I feature a new segment for The Meandering Mouse which showcases the real meaning behind this week's show title. I am honored to have DPN'ers ProudMonkey and Haleobydesign on board as the creators of the phrase, "flat and worthless" and the talent behind The Penny Press. The Penny Press is a 10 minute romp through real Disney news done in the sarcastic style of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update / The Daily Show. They aren't trying to present the Disney news in a timely and dry fashion as we are used to hearing it. Rather, The Penny Press delivers the Disney news to you the only way they know how, "Flat and Worthless." Wow, there's that phrase again. Look for t-shirts soon ;) Please provide ProudMonkey and Haleobydesign with feedback over their segment. They are very focused on making the audience happy with their production efforts and request that all feedback be posted to this thread so they can field it. All feedback they get will only help the segment get better. Thanks as always for the support guys and gals! Please visit www.myfavoritemouse.com for all you Disney travel needs. Wed, 11 April 2007 One of the newest members of The Meandering
Mouse, Doug aka DisneyParkHopper, is back with another awesome
production which will transport you to what is arguably the most
detailed and elaborate Disney theme park on Earth: Tokyo's DisneySea!!!
Through the magic of sound and your own imagination you'll be put right in the middle of the park for the grand tour starting with a ride around Tokyo Bay on the monorail to the park's station. Can't make the trek to Tokyo yourself? Well, here's your chance to travel to the park....virtually. Headphones are a must for this experience. The virtual Tokyo meanderings completed by Doug will serve as an excellent primer and introduction for my actual meanderings to be taken at the Tokyo parks. Yup! The Meandering Mouse will be headed to the Tokyo Disneyland Resort in June of 2007 and I'll be sharing my experience with you! Next week, I'll be introducing a new segment which will become a regular for The Meandering Mouse Podcast. That's right! I have yet another addition to The Meandering Mouse team. The Penny Press, produced by DPN'ers ProudMonkey and HaleobyDesign, presents real Disney news presented in a style completely unique to the Disney pod-o-sphere. When I say unique, I mean unique. It's funny in the style of SNL / The Daily Show, smart, a bit sarcastic, under 10 mins long, and, most importantly, flat and worthless. With all the new and unique additions to The Meandering Mouse Podcast, this promises to be an exciting 2nd year for the show. Have fun and enjoy! Doug would like to credit the following excellent websites for Tokyo material. Please visit them to check out much more from the Tokyo parks: barrybedford.com tdrfan.com jtcent.com Comments[6] |
Wed, 28 March 2007 For this show, I dug out all my audio from the
first Westfest. This stuff was taken before the little gathering even
had a name. My aim here is to let you in on what my experience was like
for the very first large gathering of DPN'ers which occurred at
Disneyland during the tail end of Summer 2006. You'll actually be along
with me via audio as I meet new friends for the very first time, take
crazy rides with crazy people, generally get to know strange Internet
people, and have a bunch of fun.
This is meant to be your Westfest primer as The DPN's first officially organized park event will be occurring this April. As the founder of The DPN, I'll share my personal thoughts and feelings of what I feel Westfest should be after experiencing many in park meets with A LOT of DPN'ers. Remember, your Westfest experience, if you are planning to attend, will help shape the event. Even if you are not attending, this show will give you the experience as well as I can provide it through the magic of audio and editing. We will also get to compare the first tiny Westfest with what promises to be a much larger and more significant gathering this year since everyone will be coming back from this year's event with much audio to share on their podcasts. Here are some features included in this show: -Burnt / Bitter Toast verbally abuses me -My first time meet with DPN'er JohnDUB -JohnDUB and I meet DPN'er Coco Wireless in the park just after he got off a plane which came from Disney World in Florida....he quickly goes over his experience after having not been to the park since 1989. A very interesting first time meet with someone new. -Myself, JohnDUB, and Coco Wireless take a VERY ODD ride on Indiana Jones as JohnDUB pulls the 101 cable over and over. -My first time meet with DPN'er MouseketeerGreg during Rope Drop - Greg and I then admire the life like AA ducks at the Pacific Wharf after a nice cold beer. Afterwards, we take a woozy ride on Mullhuland Madness. -Mike from Micecast and MouseketeerGreg turn into 8th graders and show me an oddly dirty feature of the Partners statue in the hub. I'm appalled and hate them for it. -Toast and I do a live Restroom Refurb Review in Fantasyland. OCD hand washing and offensive toilet flushes are heard. -Mike from Micecast takes me on a hot date on Autopia as we drive around like mad with a bunch of other DPN'ers. DPN'ers illegally bump on Autopia with no regard for safety. -I meet with Paul Barrie and crew and experience The Matterhorn with Calvin as the finale to Remember Dreams Come True goes off all around the mountain while we travel down it...very cool audio here. -The Drunken DPN Heimlich Chew Chew Train Ride - 11 DPN'ers fill a pirates boat at park close...just a clip from this as the ride thru is too long. This show has been rated PG. Remember, we are a bunch of adults meeting in the parks without family or kids so we promptly act like immature children. There are some very light hearted language and content moments. Comments[9] |
Fri, 16 March 2007 *Headphones* This week I introduce a new member / guest host of the Meandering Mouse podcast. DPN forum member Doug aka DisneyParkHopper has started to produce some excellent "virtual meandering" tours of the Tokyo Disney Resort just for the Meandering Mouse. This show will feature his first piece which takes you on an amazing sound tour through Tokyo Disneyland. You won't want to miss this one and headphones are a must!!I've also got a ride thru which I truly labored over. Mission Space is one tough attraction to record well but I finally nailed it while Q and I were on a zany space flight to nowhere. This has to be one of my favorite little pieces of audio that I've taken with my buddy Q. It took MANY tries to get this one sounding right. We had the entire space pod to ourselves which left us to carry on like mad while pushing buttons and flipping switches. Fasten your seatbelt. It's a wild ride! Sat, 3 March 2007 The Meandering Mouse podcast and The Disney Podcast Network were conceived a year ago this Feb. It has been an interesting, challenging, and rewarding run so far. Most of all, it has been a lot of fun and has given me the opportunity to interact with so many new people in my life. Both projects have brought me great new friends. Something we all could use more of. Furthermore, being part of bringing so many other good people together has given me so many wonderful feelings. In short, that experience alone has been magical. This show is dedicated to all those people that make both The Meandering Mouse and The DPN a success: The listeners and other Disney podcasters out there. I simply asked people to send in audio clips with whatever content they saw fit. Whether it be a ride-thru made in the parks, a congratulatory remark made in honor of the podcast / network, or something completely goofy, it will be showcased here on this special show. I expect this show to be a long one based on the number of audio files sent to me. Kinda interesting....this show was produced while traveling across the entire country, a huge portion of The Pacific Ocean, and on two different islands which are the most isolated on Earth. The music I used / mixed together with all the segments in order to provide a smooth flow to the show was inspired / chosen by me after I toted my Ipod 37 miles up into an active volcanic crater. The 37 miles you travel to get to the summit of Haleakala in Maui is the greatest elevation gain in shortest distance that you can experience on Earth. I meandered up the mountain and 2.5 miles down into the crater by my lonesome on March 1st. I had my Ipod on the entire time and most of the tracks I experienced on that lonely but fascinating journey were used in my 1 yr anniversary show....inspired to say the least. I sat on the edge of a volcanic cone and stared at the clouds rolling in BELOW me for about an hour....just listening to music and pondering my tiny place in this world while all alone in that desolate, alien-like, but beautiful place. It really made me feel insignificant but, sometimes, you've got to blast down the walls of your ego in order to better yourself and discover your true place on this Earth. Here is the lineup of audio clip submissions in the order as they occur: 1 - Brian Sommer as the UPS man 2 - Intro 3 - Show opener by Jonathan Dicther 4 - Mr. Mark 5 - DPN Gang VM from EPCOT - MattfromPA - Sean (Silvrwolf2006) - Artjaro - Jackey - Kira714 and Family - Steve (steafan) - Barb - Steven - Sean (Silvrwolf2006) 6 - WTTM's Paul Barrie 7 - Gary Chambers - Mouse Lounge 8 - VM - DPN'er Ryan D. 9 - VM - DPN'er NickMonte (Pete) 10 - Lou Mongello 11 - Beyond Main Street 12 - Chris - The Big D Vidcast 13 - Brad from Bringing Disneyland Home Vidcast 14 - Let's Talk About Disney / Bare Necessities Crew 15 - Saul's Sister - DPN'er Patrokls 16 - Brian Sommer 17 - pdxmickey (David B.) - Matterhorn Ride-Thru 18 - Jackie O. Fri, 16 February 2007 *RATED PG*
Well, this show was delayed because I have been slammed with work since I got back from WDW. Heck, I was working while out at the resort that week. Given all this, I have no super special 50th show. However, The Meandering Mouse and The DPN will turn 1 year old this month. I have plans for a celebratory show but I'm going to need some time to get everything together.
On this show, I have some important announcements to make. Afterwards, Q and I sit down to talk about our crazy WDW trip as of lately. It was a great time full of first time experiences that, for some reason, involved insane amounts of food.
I've always wanted to do a strict trip report show since I enjoy hearing trip reports from other podcasters so much. Well, here's my chance to share a great trip report with all of you!
Warning...I'm tagging this with PG13 as Q and I were cutting up and having a good time talking about our trip. It's all in good fun but a little warning is in order here.

Wed, 31 January 2007 *You REALLY NEED Headphones for This Show* Join me and my buddy Q at the brand new Pirates and Princess Party at The Magic Kingdom in Florida for the Magic, Music, and Mayhem Fireworks show. This show was recorded live from the WDW resort and begins at the TTC. You'll follow us into the park, down Main Street USA, and take a quick ride on the TTA before we grab some hot cocoa and enjoy the most amazing fireworks show I've seen in quite some time. This new show doesn't hold the same appeal for me as Illuminations but it is the most impressive fireworks show I've ever seen with the castle as the backdrop. In my opinion, this this was more or as impressive as the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks display at Disneyland. It was great fun and great audio. Tue, 16 January 2007 The Micecast Disney podcast has consistently been one of my favorite Disney podcasts for a quite some time. If you are familiar with Mike and Greg's show and banter, you are accustomed to their off-the-cuff and tangent filled discussion style. They cover anything Disney and whatever else pops up...sometimes it's insightful, sometimes it's funny, sometimes they talk about nothing remotely close to Disney subject matter, and sometimes it's even off-color and politically incorrect. However, it's always an honest take and a good time. These guys, no doubt, have a passion for the parks.I spoke with Mike from Micecast recently and found out he was heading out of town for a solid week for a family funeral and tend to all the business that comes with such a tough experience. Therefore, I'm presenting this special edition of The Meandering Mouse Podcast in true Micecast style as a tribute to the show and to fill that void which will be left while Mike tends to important family business. This round table discussion took place at Disneyland's Rancho Del Zocalo one crisp Fall evening. Myself, Mike, Greg, and DPN forum member, Burnt Toast, took some time to discuss being part of the Disney cast member family. All three of the guys were Disney cast members at one point in their life. Toast spent around 12 years with the company. I couldn't have thought of a better topic to cover than working as a cast member as I was surrounded with so many friends who have shared the experience. My sympathies go out to Mike and his family this week. This one's for you, my friend. Please stay until the end of the show to play LTAD Jeopardy for your chance to win the T-Shirt which was signed by all the Disney podcasters at Mousefest 2006. Fri, 22 December 2006 **Headphones Highly Suggested** I made it back alive from Mousefest. After spending seven days at Walt Disney World with little sleep, my head is still spinning. Mousefest was an incredible experience filled with memories and time spent with good people. I was also able to grab a lot of fun audio from the gathering. I'll be sharing some of that audio on this show and letting you in on what it was like to be right in the middle of the madness. Last but not least, it's the holiday season and what better way to celebrate than hanging out with the DPN gang at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Most of The DPN gang along with some friends parked ourselves curbside in the hub of The Magic Kingdom on a chilly evening to take in the amazing Christmas parade. Come gather with us in the holday spirit using your earbuds. As a finale to this show, I present the incredible 4 minute Holiday Illuminations. You'll get to experience the explosive mayhem which caps off Reflections of Earth each night during this special season. My mics actually held up to the assault. It's a Christmas miracle! Tue, 12 December 2006 Sneak Preview of Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club at WDW's Magic Kingdom. Posted live from Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs. I was able to catch some of the first sneak previews of Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club here at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom today. The imagineers are testing the attraction and working the bugs out. So far, I'd say the attraction is coming along fairly well and is a somewhat welcome addition to The Magic Kingdom. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not it truly fits into Tomorrowland, though. The show uses similar technology seen at Turtle Talk. There are three Monster comedians who take the stage and interact with the audience. The entire show is projected on three different video screens and one screen is used to pick people out of the crowd as they do in Turtle Talk. Cast Members wander the room with a mic to catch guests interacting with the comedians. Each guest interaction and the gags to go with it help fill the laugh canister which resides on the right side of the stage. The theming in the attraction is well done for the most part. The seating area is clever given that it really looks like a comedy club or lounge. They even have small lounge lamps mounted in front of the seats which sometimes flash with the laughs. My only complaint would be the quality of the animation seems to be lacking a bit. Turtle Talk is animated much more fluid and the images on the screen are more vivid. The projections at Laugh Floor appeared washed out a bit. MANY imagineers were on hand for the previews and were standing in the back of the theater throughout the show. They took a small audience survey at the end of the performance to gauge reaction to the new original characters. I can't seem to find video or audio of this attraction anywhere on the net. Earl from Trapped told me that he thought someone had snagged and posted video of the attraction but I can't find it. Therefore, I am tagging the entire audio captured of the show as a Meandering Mouse Podcast exclusive. If there is, in fact, video of the show floating around, please let me know and I will post a link in the DPN thread for this show. Sun, 3 December 2006 I'm back in the studio right before I leave town
for Mousfest in order to put in a full production of Meandering Mouse
goodness! This show is all about the weirdest and goofiest sound clips
taken at the parks that I could dig up.Highlights Include: -Lots of Meandering Minnie park weirdness and fun in lieu of her birthday this week. -Saul takes two DPN forum members to his special public storage unit. -Disney's version of Borat or The Crazy Russian Guy on Disney's Boardwalk. -Earl and I hustling at Pop Century Resort or the resort I call, "The Disney Dorm Room" (Sorry Scopa Towers Lovers...it's The Disney Dorm Room in my book). Extra thanks to everyone at The DPN Community who has helped prepare everything for Mousefest. I'll see everyone planning to attend down at WDW starting on Thursday the 7th. Comments[6] |
Wed, 22 November 2006 **Headphones A Must** Be Sure to listen to the VERY END of this one. It's time for some live from Walt Disney World Meanderings!! This has to be my all-time favorite live in the park meandering show as it covers Disney's Animal Kingdom at night along with a walk around The WorldShowcase promenade for some reviews of The Food and Wine Festival. That's right, it's your chance to drink and eat your way around the world with The Meandering Mouse. This show ends with the best recording I've ever captured of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. It's an wonderful piece of audio that you will really enjoy. At the VERY END of this show you'll hear me get stopped in the park by a fan once again...great stuff!! It was really windy at The Animal Kingdom that night and I was turning my head quite a bit while narrating....I apologize for that but the material more than makes up for it...trust me on this. Fri, 10 November 2006 Earl, from Trapped on Vacation, The Bleepin'
Wife, and I got a sneak peak of Finding Nemo The Musical at Disney's
Animal Kingdom this past week. The show was quite impressive
considering it is in "BETA" at the moment. The original music written
for the show, the actors, and use of puppetry all worked together very
well. I would have to say it is the best live show in the parks I've
seen at Disney World and it will only get better as they iron out the
wrinkles.
Earl will be posting a binaural version of the show so you can also check his out...there will, most likely, be a variation in the sound but you'll have to decide for yourself. I may be wrong but I believe we are the first to podcast this show. Since I'm out on vacation it's hard to keep up with what's going on around the net. Enjoy this sneak peek posted from Walt Disney World. Comments[6] |
Sun, 5 November 2006 I didn't think I was going to put a show out this week. Why? Because the Meandering Mouse is, once again, on the road. This show is being posted from The Walt Disney World Resort as I'm here for a full week! That means we will be starting a run of podcasts taken at WDW before you know it. Even though we are back at Disneyland live once again on this show, you will find this to be quite relaxing and entertaining. I decided to act like a big kid one morning at Disneyland and take in nothing but kiddie rides. Come along with me on a glorious morning at Walt's original park and feel like a child all over again. Highlights include: -Some Amazing Listener Voice Mails -Me getting stopped in the park by a fan of the show -Storybook Canal Boats -Casey Junior -Gadget's Go-Go Coaster -King Arthur's Carousel Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website! Sun, 29 October 2006 **Headphones Suggested** This show begins with a real life haunted story from Disneyland told by a seasoned cast member. Next, I feature one last live in-the-park meandering from Disneyland before we head back to Walt Disney World in Florida. Join Greg (Micecast / Imagineering My Way) and I in Disneyland's California Adventure one evening as we explore some of the new Halloween decorations around the Hollywood Tower of Terror. Last, what spooky night in the park would be complete without a ride on Monsters. There is a little overlap of the Today I am at Disneyland show (episode 37) as I describe the Esplanade Halloween Decor once again while walking into the park....I provide a little more detail since it was my first time seeing the decor lit at night. Sun, 22 October 2006 I, of course, have more material from Disneyland
this week since I was there for 5 full days. Furthermore, I want to
roll out as much of the Halloween material I have before it becomes
stale. The Halloweentime celebration at Disneyland was a welcome
addition to the park experience in my opinion. I'll be back with more
Disney World material before you know it. Highlights for this show include: -The New Jedi Training Academy at Tomorrowland Terrace -Main Street Pumpkin Festival -Golden Screams -The Scariest Place in all of Disneyland as experienced by Myself, JohnDUB, and Burnt Toast -Listener Feedback - Earl's last ride on Journey into Imagination Comments[45] |
Sun, 15 October 2006 **Headphones Needed 4 this one** Recorded Sunday Oct. 15th. Thats right. I'm at Disneyland again and recorded a live in the park show for you all and am posting it on the same day the audio was taken. Join me for some laid back meanderings throughout the park. Highlights include: -An Amazing Listener Email -Grand Circle Disneyland Railroad Journey -Main Street Goodness -The Disneyland Band at the Castle Compass Rose -Pinnochio's Daring Journey -Sword in the Stone Ceremony that has sadly been REMOVED from WDW Have fun and enjoy your journey through Disneyland with me. Mon, 9 October 2006 **Headphone Friendly** In this episode of The Meandering
Mouse, I continue my EPCOT retrospective series and highlight the original
Universe of Energy. We discover that the departure of the original Universe of
Energy in 1994 marks a great change in the general theme of EPCOT's Future
World. A piece of EPCOT's original mission is also left behind with the
re-imagineering of the pavillion. While I still consider the re-themed
attraction (Ellen's Energy Adventure) to be a very well done and entertaining replacement,
it's always interesting to take a look back. Highlights of this show include
full commentary discussing the energy pavillion's history, the design, its
principles, and an edited audio ride thru of the attraction. Thanks to everyone
that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network
thru the show website! First post of this episode had the wrong finale song presented in the ride thru. Universe of Energy should play at the finale vs. Energy, you make the world go round.

Sun, 24 September 2006 **Made for HEADPHONES** We start this episode with probably the most endearing / special piece of audio I've ever taken. I interviewed my 96 year old Grandmother while I was in Pittsburgh. Why you ask? It's simple. The Meandering Mimi was responsible for taking my Sister and I to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom for the very first time back in 1983 when I was 8 years old! This recorded discussion is our attempt at digging up all those magical memories which occured way back when. As you'll hear, it wasn't easy! Next up, we continue in the way back machine and explore some of the first EPCOT Center music ever presented to the public as a listener chimes in on the subject of EPCOT's BGM loops. The feature of the show will be an audio adventure around the World Showcase lagoon with my buddy, Patrick, and Earl from Trapped on Vacation. We meander around one evening experiencing The World Showcase exactly as it should be experienced: With no particular agenda other than to explore and take it all in. The audio wraps up with rides on Norway's Maelstrom and Mexico's El Rio Del Tiempo. Check out the DPN website changes going on now. More great things to come. Thu, 7 September 2006 **MUST HAVE HEADPHONES** I finish my live in park podcast taken during my trip last week with this show. Please make sure you have already listened to part 1 as to complete the audio experience. This final part of the special series is twice as long as the first part because I am home with more time on my hands to work on the show. Part 1 was thrown together from my hotel room in Anaheim. There is a little more babbling by me going on here since I find myself back tracking a bit while trying to decide what to do with my morning. Below is the list of attractions I hit while Meandering around the park on this second and final part of my podcast in the park morning. Yes, I know we've done some of these attractions before but this two part show was meant to highlight a complete and somewhat typical morning for me as I left the mics run as much as possible while I had some fun. The best part? Your are along for the journey! Space Mountain Ride Thru (best audio of this one yet due to new field equipment - no more insane distortion), It's a Small World, Push the Trashcan (Best EVAR), Roger Rabbit's Toontown Queue exploration and Ride Thru, Toon Town Meanderings, Big Thunder Mountain, and The Haunted Mansion. Sat, 2 September 2006 **MUST HAVE HEADPHONES** This is a special LIVE FROM DISNEYLAND Meandering Mouse podcast: Part One. Recorded on September 1 2006. I'm sitting here in my hotel room at the Anaheim Resort area as I post this. I changed my flight plans and added an extra day to my little vacation out here. Yesterday I experimented with recording an entire show at the park. I meandered around during a gorgeous Friday morning and you will be along for the ride. No editing was done to this piece of audio. Sat, 26 August 2006 **HEADPHONES R Ur Friends** The Meandering Mouse returns from another EPCOT retro show and does what its known for best: Meandering throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Join me for a complete audio journey of a somewhat typical morning at Disney World. We begin at EPCOT's monorail station where we take a ride to the TTC and then hop onto the express Monorail to The Magic Kingdom. While Meandering down Main Street, we notice some charming details. Next, enjoy the transition into Tomorrowland and meet up with an old friend for a wild ride on Space Mountain. Once we make our way into Fantasyland, Peter Pan's Flight is on our must-do list before heading over for a wonderful sounding ride through The Haunted Mansion. Our morning at The Magic Kingdom comes to an end at The Frontierland Train Station. It begins to rain and Lou from Beyond Main Street just happens to be headed into the same station we're waiting at for the train. An odd coincidence for sure! To end our audio adventure, we hop back onto The Monorail for a trip around EPCOT where we finish back at the start of it all. Stick around for some wonderful audio feedback sent in by a listener. Sat, 19 August 2006 **Lookie Mom! HEADPHONES** Join me for part three of my recent EPCOT Retrospective Series. This show will cover The World of Motion and MUCH MORE!! First up, I devote some time to some wonderful listener comments and voice mail. I've been quite appreciative over all the positive response to the show as of lately. Next, we take a "Magic Journey" back in time to explore The World of Motion. In my typical EPCOT retro style, I go over the history of the attraction, some technical specs, how I felt about it, and I then feature a special segment about Marc Davis since his infamous AA "sight gags" filled The World of Motion. Soon after that we board our Omnimovers and take our stereo ride thru of the entire attraction. To end the show, I let you in on my personal feelings over what EPCOT has become and what's truly able to still strike a chord within me at the park. Stay until the end...you'll want to. Sat, 12 August 2006 **PG-13 WARNING** Something quite different......along with something familiar. The Meandering Mouse emerges from the more serious side as heard on the EPCOT retrospective series and returns with its irreverent commentary, biting sarcasm, and wildly creative take on the Disney podcast. Get your Adventurer's gear and first join us for some Disneyland Adventureland Meanderings. We take the original Jungle Cruise right at closing time and then explore Tarzan's Treehouse. During the featured audio of this episode, The Meandering Mouse and his buddy, Quenton, imagineer their own version of the Jungle Cruise and feature the audio ride-thru for this special show. It took one 3 seat 1100cc 125 H.P. Jet Ski, two adventurous souls, some microphones, a bunch of water bound natives, some REAL wildlife sightings, and a lot of noise out on the open water to build this E-ticket attraction of insanity. **WARNING** The Meandering Jungle Jet Ski Cruise part of the show is not for the kiddies and not for those sound quality snobs. This is extreme outdoor and impromptu soundseeing podcasting at its finest. Recording at a moment's notice sans windscreen while, occasionally, flying across the water at over 50MPH isn't pretty at times but we do slow down and explore the countryside for most of the experience. Fascinating stuff edited and cleaned up just a bit. Bring your sense of humor to this show or make use of that fast forward feature. Thu, 3 August 2006 **WEAR HEADPHONES OR SUFFER ;)**Back by massively POPULAR DEMAND is my retrospective series covering EPCOT's golden era. On this show, I feature the ORIGINAL Journey into Imagination attraction (1983-1998). The past and present of the attraction will be explored along with a detailed ride description before taking another amazing stereo audio ride thru which is similar to the Horizons ride thru I played on a previous episode. I share my personal memories and feelings over what was one of the most fascinating and somewhat abstract dark rides ever conceived by The Disney company. Sat, 22 July 2006 This show begins with the Meandering Minnie and I making a Kungaloosh in the studio to celebrate one heck of a busy week being done with. After our tasty adult beverage, we review Lou Mongello's latest Disney World Trivia book as his publisher was nice enough to provide us podcasters with a free copy. Before the Meandering Minnie leaves the studio, we feature some in park audio of a few cast members we talked to, learn a bit about the Reedy Creek District, and the C.H.I.P. hotline. As I take the mic solo for the remainder of the show, I discuss that special feeling you have when you first arrive at the parks and feature some great park audio of my buddy Quenton and I arriving at the Disneyland Resort for the first time. We walk down Main Street and end our audio meandering with Quenton's first ride on Space Mountain. He had a great time to say the least and you'll hear that in the ride-thru. Next up, we experience the queue at Space Mountain in Florida. I meander through the Star Tunnel and then play the music featured in both the entrance and exit of the attraction since it is some of my favorite music heard at WDW's Magic Kingdom. One of the tracks I stumbled upon was tagged, "Space Mountain - Impressions" and I ask YOU from which Space Mountain the track comes from. To round things out we visit the Space Mountain launch pad where a GOOD FRIEND seems to have gotten stuck in the space capsule which is ready to blast off! Somebody get a wrench and FAST! Last, we read a few listener emails as the last Horizons episode caused my inbox to be slammed with some amazing feedback. Mon, 10 July 2006 **SERIOUSLY-Headphones HIGHLY Suggested** Join me for a different sort of show as I provide some personal meanderings, musings, and memories of what EPCOT used to be all about. First, I'll provide a brief history of my all time favorite Disney attraction: Horizons. I'll present some interesting details about the attraction along with some RARE audio. To end the Horizons portion of the show, I will play one of the most fascinating pieces of audio I've ever heard dealing with Horizons...a mixdown of source audio which presents a completely accurate ride through of the attraction. Last, we will take a look back on the last remaining great dark ride at EPCOT: Spaceship Earth. We will take a ride thru of the attraction in it's golden days featuring audio narration by Walter Cronkite. I've been waiting a LONG TIME to do a HORIZONS based show as the memory of that attraction is one of the best Disney Park attraction memories I have from my childhood days spent in the parks. I hope this show does it justice. Special Thanks to Martin Smith and George W. (not Bush) for some of the material used in this show. Sat, 1 July 2006 Well, I made it to episode 25. Just WOW! On this show, we first celebrate The Disney Podcast Network and all its
members with Saul. Next, we come full circle and experience an audio
meandering of Disneyland's Tom Sawyer Island as my very first
Meandering Mouse show featured a tour of Disney World's version.
After our Island adventure, we take in Pirates of the Carribean at Walt Disney World with Earl and Patrick right after its first phase of refurb. This is obviously a nod to the grand re-opening of Pirates this month.
To round out this show, we explore a few Disney sound oddities. My
25th show just wouldn't be complete without some whacky sounds and odd
meanderings out at the Disney parks.

Sun, 25 June 2006 This episode is for all those Disney-MGM Studios lovers out there. We begin with a morning meandering over to the park, ride the parking lot tram to the front gates, and experience the rope drop. Once in the park, Patrick runs into Saul during the Star Tours pre-show. We find out that Saul is somewhat of a Star Wars nerd and a fastpass is issued for a fist fight between the two tourists (take special notice Patrick's deadpan reaction to the madness). To continue with the odd humor, we head next door to take in the Muppets 3D Pre-Show which is my favorite part of the entire attraction. Next up, we hitch a ride on that crazy old cursed elevator at The Tower of Terror Meandering Mouse style. Last at the Studios, The Meandering Minnie and I take a whack at Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Play it! Come along with us and test your ability in regurgitating useless knowledge. Sun, 18 June 2006 **Headphones Suggested** This show begins with some truly unique WDW sound oddities. Come along with me as I explore one of the wackiest Disney World attractions: The audio pumped into the different restrooms around the resort. Don't worry because no offensive sounds are heard; just weird audio that accompanies you on your business trips while at the world. There are some other Disney park sound oddities thrown in as a surprise! Next, experience The Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Meandering Minnie and I check the show out for the very first time on our last trip and you're there with us enjoying the show! The audio truly shines for this wonderful live performance. Last, stick around for some great listener feedback...there has been a lot of it lately. This week's show picture is the infamous women's chair toilet up in Disneyland's Club33. Mon, 12 June 2006 **Rated PG-Headphones Suggested** This edition of the Meandering Mouse takes on a different and somewhat of a reflective tone as I prepare my mind and spirit for an upcoming Disneyland trip at the end of August. The audio featured on this episode of The Meandering Mouse is 100% from Disneyland...the original that started it all! First, we revisit some of the very first audio clips I took while I first meandered through Disneyland back in October of 2005. The Meandering Mouse wasn't even thought of at this point because I didn't have a podcast. This type of audio is RARE...I don't know of any other Disney podcasters that have audio recorded of themselves experiencing Disneyland for the very first time. It really takes me back to that special feeling I had walking around alone in Walt's original park for the very first time on a chilly evening in October...I even get LOST which is funny to hear now that I know the parks on both coasts like the back of my hand. The other neat thing in regards to these recordings is that you can hear how the quality of my meanderings have improved over time. To be honest, the quality is quite rough on these early recordings...levels are all over the place and there are some spots with some REALLY NASTY wind and vibration. It is quite listenable though...no doubt about that. After the early first steps into Disneyland recordings, I shift gears and play some newer audio from my trip to DL this past Feb. However, the audio is just of me literally meandering through the park with no purpose. It's fun to come along with me as I take in my surroundings and point out certain details I notice along the way. Next, we visit The Sorcerer's Workshop at The Animation Building in Cali Adventure where myself and my Disneyland Cast Member friend (Toast) take Disney personality tests using the enchanted books in the Beauty and the Beast Library. Last, I leave you with a high quality and fun experience over at Monsters Inc. I think this is one of my best recordings of one of the newest attraction at DL. I finally captured one of my favorite gags and details of the attraction while making my way through the queue area. Mon, 29 May 2006 *Show is RATED PG-13* Okay, I've gotten many emails and have seen many requests on the forums for part two of my interview with my Disneyland cast member friend. I sat down with my buddy out at Disneyland's Grand Californian / California Adventure one afternoon in February and we spoke about his 11 year history with the company. Part one of the interview posted on The Meandering Mouse on March 4, 2006. I find this part of the interview to be MUCH MORE interesting as my friend talks about the current job conditions at Disneyland and how things have changed since the inception of "presenteism." We also discuss something a bit less serious...his favorite and least favorite park attractions. As stated in the topic title, this is a special episode of The Meandering Mouse so there are no soundseeing experiences or goofyness. Enjoy these more serious meanderings as a change of pace for the show. Forum member "Toast" is the person being interviewed. He is an active member at The Disney Podcast Network. Therefore, if you have any questions, post away and I'm sure he will be happy to answer. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website! Thu, 25 May 2006 *Headphones Suggested* This show will begin by wrapping up my April
Disney World trip report with my bud Patrick. We visit the Magic
Kingdom for a crazy Disney park morning ride on Space Mountain, take in
some Magic Kingdom sounds, walk around with Earl from Trapped on
Vacation as he tells us some goofy and interesting cast member stories,
hear The Carousel of Progress during a nasty technical glitch, take a
walk through Disney's Pleasure Island construction zone at night while
experiencing some of the worst music. Next up, The Meandering Minnie
joins us to summarize our recent May trip to Disney World. We discuss
our stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, meeting some Disney Podcast
Network members out at the parks, and experience everyone's favorite
Disney attraction: Stitch's Great Escape. The show ends with some great
listener voice mail including an amazing surprise for The Meandering
Mouse. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering

Sat, 13 May 2006 *Headphones Suggested* This episode begins with an introduction to The Meandering Minnie Mouse who I will be taking to Walt Disney World this coming week. She tells us what she is looking forward to and we get into some general shenanigans...it's a good laugh for sure. Next up is day three of my ongoing Disney trip report series. I start that with an EPCOT morning which includes a close call with an auto collision while entering EPCOT's parking lot and, of course, the EPCOT rope drop. Come along with us as we are herded like Disney tourist cattle into The Land pavilion in order to retrieve a FastPass for Soarin'. After a morning meandering with me and my pal, experience a ride thru of Test Track and some Disney sound oddities from the Manatee tank at the Living Seas. The last bit of audio weirdness is compliments of Earl from Trapped on Vacation as we hang out at The American Adventure. This show closes with a hustled entry into the Magic Kingdom for a spot on the Tomorrowland bridge to view the Wishes fireworks show above Conderella's castle. Sun, 7 May 2006 *Headphones HIGHLY Suggested* This show wll begin with a summary and audio of my second day of my recent Walt Disney World Trip. It's an Animal Kingdom Morning and a visit to ALL FOUR DISNEY PARKS in one day! During the trip report, I comment on all the changes I noticed on Pirates of the Caribbean since it re-opened for a month after the first phase of rehab. Next up, by popular demand, I feature an insane ride thru of Splash Mountain. I say insane because we had visited ALL FOUR DISNEY PARKS before riding Splash at 1:30 in the morning!!!! We were sorta loopy from walking 15 to 20 some miles and going that long in the Disney parks. I've also got some wild news. My friend Patrick ran into Saul the Unsuspecting and Overly Enthusiastic Tourist while visiting the Haunted Mansion!!! Can you believe it?? Join Saul and my bud, Patrick, for one heck of a goofy time as they journey through the cobwebs and spookiness of The Haunted Mansion. The show ends with some GREAT listener feedback so stay tuned. Fri, 17 March 2006 This episode is a special encore presentation of my Expedition Everest soundseeing tour I took during the Annual Passholder Preview of the attraction. It originally aired on The Trapped on Vacation show since that's where I started my podcasting adventure. There have been many new listeners to the Meandering Mouse and I consider this one of my best audio pieces to date. Given all that, I want to make sure all listeners of the show have a chance to hear this tour. Join your host, Jeff from Houston, as he experiences Expedition Everest for the very first time. This stereo audio journey takes you from the airport right into Serka Zong for an exploration of, both, the area around the new attraction and the ride itself. Be looking forward to more crazy fun when a normal episode of The Meandering Mouse airs by the start of the new week.

Join your host, Jeff from Houston, as he wanders around Toontown in Disneyland exploring all the whacky distractions and sounds in the area. Afterwards, get your bags packed for a cross country trip to Florida where I visit EPCOT Center's Universe of Energy / Ellen's Energy Adventure. This underappreciated pavilion at EPCOT is top notch in my book and needs no commentary. Therefore, I keep my big mouth shut during this great ride thru. Hear Ellen and Bill Nye the Science Guy as they travel through time experiencing The Big Bang and a bunch of Dinosaurs. Last, our new weekly feature, which highlights those special details found in the Disney parks, is presented. Send in your favorite special Disney park details and comments about the show.

Sat, 4 March 2006 This is part 1 of an interview I did with a very important Disney Cast Member. No, it's not an Imagineer and it's not a Disney Exec. This interview was done with the most important of all cast members. This is the person that has worked the front lines in the parks and has had constant guest interaction. In my opinion, the magic at Disney is created by cast members like this. These are the people responsible for working quite hard to make your Disney Resort trips a special one. Since this is another "special event" episode, look for another show to be released soon that features the normal crazy meanderings you're getting used to here at the podcast. After that, I will release part 2 of this wonderful interview. Thanks to everyone for subscribing and listening! **Headphones Highly Suggested** I made it back alive from Mousefest. After spending seven days at Walt Disney World with little
**Headphone Friendly** In this episode of The Meandering
**Lookie Mom! Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**PG-13 WARNING** Something quite different......along with something familiar.
**WEAR HEADPHONES OR SUFFER ;)**Back by massively POPULAR DEMAND is my retrospective series covering EPCOT's golden era. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**SERIOUSLY-Headphones HIGHLY Suggested** Join me for a different sort of show as I provide some personal meanderings, musings, and memories of what EPCOT used to be all about. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website! Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**Headphones Suggested** This show begins with some truly unique WDW sound oddities. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
