Wed, 22 November 2006 **Headphones A Must** Be Sure to listen to the VERY END of this one. It's time for some live from Walt Disney World Meanderings!! This has to be my all-time favorite live in the park meandering show as it covers Disney's Animal Kingdom at night along with a walk around The WorldShowcase promenade for some reviews of The Food and Wine Festival. That's right, it's your chance to drink and eat your way around the world with The Meandering Mouse. This show ends with the best recording I've ever captured of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. It's an wonderful piece of audio that you will really enjoy. At the VERY END of this show you'll hear me get stopped in the park by a fan once again...great stuff!! It was really windy at The Animal Kingdom that night and I was turning my head quite a bit while narrating....I apologize for that but the material more than makes up for it...trust me on this. Fri, 10 November 2006 Earl, from Trapped on Vacation, The Bleepin'
Wife, and I got a sneak peak of Finding Nemo The Musical at Disney's
Animal Kingdom this past week. The show was quite impressive
considering it is in "BETA" at the moment. The original music written
for the show, the actors, and use of puppetry all worked together very
well. I would have to say it is the best live show in the parks I've
seen at Disney World and it will only get better as they iron out the
wrinkles.
Earl will be posting a binaural version of the show so you can also check his out...there will, most likely, be a variation in the sound but you'll have to decide for yourself. I may be wrong but I believe we are the first to podcast this show. Since I'm out on vacation it's hard to keep up with what's going on around the net. Enjoy this sneak peek posted from Walt Disney World. Comments[6] |
Sun, 5 November 2006 I didn't think I was going to put a show out this week. Why? Because the Meandering Mouse is, once again, on the road. This show is being posted from The Walt Disney World Resort as I'm here for a full week! That means we will be starting a run of podcasts taken at WDW before you know it. Even though we are back at Disneyland live once again on this show, you will find this to be quite relaxing and entertaining. I decided to act like a big kid one morning at Disneyland and take in nothing but kiddie rides. Come along with me on a glorious morning at Walt's original park and feel like a child all over again. Highlights include: -Some Amazing Listener Voice Mails -Me getting stopped in the park by a fan of the show -Storybook Canal Boats -Casey Junior -Gadget's Go-Go Coaster -King Arthur's Carousel Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website! Sun, 29 October 2006 **Headphones Suggested** This show begins with a real life haunted story from Disneyland told by a seasoned cast member. Next, I feature one last live in-the-park meandering from Disneyland before we head back to Walt Disney World in Florida. Join Greg (Micecast / Imagineering My Way) and I in Disneyland's California Adventure one evening as we explore some of the new Halloween decorations around the Hollywood Tower of Terror. Last, what spooky night in the park would be complete without a ride on Monsters. There is a little overlap of the Today I am at Disneyland show (episode 37) as I describe the Esplanade Halloween Decor once again while walking into the park....I provide a little more detail since it was my first time seeing the decor lit at night. Sun, 22 October 2006 I, of course, have more material from Disneyland
this week since I was there for 5 full days. Furthermore, I want to
roll out as much of the Halloween material I have before it becomes
stale. The Halloweentime celebration at Disneyland was a welcome
addition to the park experience in my opinion. I'll be back with more
Disney World material before you know it. Highlights for this show include: -The New Jedi Training Academy at Tomorrowland Terrace -Main Street Pumpkin Festival -Golden Screams -The Scariest Place in all of Disneyland as experienced by Myself, JohnDUB, and Burnt Toast -Listener Feedback - Earl's last ride on Journey into Imagination Comments[45] |
Sun, 15 October 2006 **Headphones Needed 4 this one** Recorded Sunday Oct. 15th. Thats right. I'm at Disneyland again and recorded a live in the park show for you all and am posting it on the same day the audio was taken. Join me for some laid back meanderings throughout the park. Highlights include: -An Amazing Listener Email -Grand Circle Disneyland Railroad Journey -Main Street Goodness -The Disneyland Band at the Castle Compass Rose -Pinnochio's Daring Journey -Sword in the Stone Ceremony that has sadly been REMOVED from WDW Have fun and enjoy your journey through Disneyland with me. Mon, 9 October 2006 **Headphone Friendly** In this episode of The Meandering
Mouse, I continue my EPCOT retrospective series and highlight the original
Universe of Energy. We discover that the departure of the original Universe of
Energy in 1994 marks a great change in the general theme of EPCOT's Future
World. A piece of EPCOT's original mission is also left behind with the
re-imagineering of the pavillion. While I still consider the re-themed
attraction (Ellen's Energy Adventure) to be a very well done and entertaining replacement,
it's always interesting to take a look back. Highlights of this show include
full commentary discussing the energy pavillion's history, the design, its
principles, and an edited audio ride thru of the attraction. Thanks to everyone
that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network
thru the show website! First post of this episode had the wrong finale song presented in the ride thru. Universe of Energy should play at the finale vs. Energy, you make the world go round.

Sun, 24 September 2006 **Made for HEADPHONES** We start this episode with probably the most endearing / special piece of audio I've ever taken. I interviewed my 96 year old Grandmother while I was in Pittsburgh. Why you ask? It's simple. The Meandering Mimi was responsible for taking my Sister and I to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom for the very first time back in 1983 when I was 8 years old! This recorded discussion is our attempt at digging up all those magical memories which occured way back when. As you'll hear, it wasn't easy! Next up, we continue in the way back machine and explore some of the first EPCOT Center music ever presented to the public as a listener chimes in on the subject of EPCOT's BGM loops. The feature of the show will be an audio adventure around the World Showcase lagoon with my buddy, Patrick, and Earl from Trapped on Vacation. We meander around one evening experiencing The World Showcase exactly as it should be experienced: With no particular agenda other than to explore and take it all in. The audio wraps up with rides on Norway's Maelstrom and Mexico's El Rio Del Tiempo. Check out the DPN website changes going on now. More great things to come. Thu, 7 September 2006 **MUST HAVE HEADPHONES** I finish my live in park podcast taken during my trip last week with this show. Please make sure you have already listened to part 1 as to complete the audio experience. This final part of the special series is twice as long as the first part because I am home with more time on my hands to work on the show. Part 1 was thrown together from my hotel room in Anaheim. There is a little more babbling by me going on here since I find myself back tracking a bit while trying to decide what to do with my morning. Below is the list of attractions I hit while Meandering around the park on this second and final part of my podcast in the park morning. Yes, I know we've done some of these attractions before but this two part show was meant to highlight a complete and somewhat typical morning for me as I left the mics run as much as possible while I had some fun. The best part? Your are along for the journey! Space Mountain Ride Thru (best audio of this one yet due to new field equipment - no more insane distortion), It's a Small World, Push the Trashcan (Best EVAR), Roger Rabbit's Toontown Queue exploration and Ride Thru, Toon Town Meanderings, Big Thunder Mountain, and The Haunted Mansion. The Meandering Mouse welcomes Greg from Imagineering My Way at imagineeringmyway.com into the Disney Podcast Network Family. Visit his new forum under the Micecast section. Sat, 2 September 2006 **MUST HAVE HEADPHONES** This is a special LIVE FROM DISNEYLAND Meandering Mouse podcast: Part One. Recorded on September 1 2006. I'm sitting here in my hotel room at the Anaheim Resort area as I post this. I changed my flight plans and added an extra day to my little vacation out here. Yesterday I experimented with recording an entire show at the park. I meandered around during a gorgeous Friday morning and you will be along for the ride. No editing was done to this piece of audio. Sat, 26 August 2006 **HEADPHONES R Ur Friends** The Meandering Mouse returns from another EPCOT retro show and does what its known for best: Meandering throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Join me for a complete audio journey of a somewhat typical morning at Disney World. We begin at EPCOT's monorail station where we take a ride to the TTC and then hop onto the express Monorail to The Magic Kingdom. While Meandering down Main Street, we notice some charming details. Next, enjoy the transition into Tomorrowland and meet up with an old friend for a wild ride on Space Mountain. Once we make our way into Fantasyland, Peter Pan's Flight is on our must-do list before heading over for a wonderful sounding ride through The Haunted Mansion. Our morning at The Magic Kingdom comes to an end at The Frontierland Train Station. It begins to rain and Lou from Beyond Main Street just happens to be headed into the same station we're waiting at for the train. An odd coincidence for sure! To end our audio adventure, we hop back onto The Monorail for a trip around EPCOT where we finish back at the start of it all. Stick around for some wonderful audio feedback sent in by a listener. Sat, 19 August 2006 **Lookie Mom! HEADPHONES** Join me for part three of my recent EPCOT Retrospective Series. This show will cover The World of Motion and MUCH MORE!! First up, I devote some time to some wonderful listener comments and voice mail. I've been quite appreciative over all the positive response to the show as of lately. Next, we take a "Magic Journey" back in time to explore The World of Motion. In my typical EPCOT retro style, I go over the history of the attraction, some technical specs, how I felt about it, and I then feature a special segment about Marc Davis since his infamous AA "sight gags" filled The World of Motion. Soon after that we board our Omnimovers and take our stereo ride thru of the entire attraction. To end the show, I let you in on my personal feelings over what EPCOT has become and what's truly able to still strike a chord within me at the park. Stay until the end...you'll want to. Sat, 12 August 2006 **PG-13 WARNING** Something quite different......along with something familiar. The Meandering Mouse emerges from the more serious side as heard on the EPCOT retrospective series and returns with its irreverent commentary, biting sarcasm, and wildly creative take on the Disney podcast. Get your Adventurer's gear and first join us for some Disneyland Adventureland Meanderings. We take the original Jungle Cruise right at closing time and then explore Tarzan's Treehouse. During the featured audio of this episode, The Meandering Mouse and his buddy, Quenton, imagineer their own version of the Jungle Cruise and feature the audio ride-thru for this special show. It took one 3 seat 1100cc 125 H.P. Jet Ski, two adventurous souls, some microphones, a bunch of water bound natives, some REAL wildlife sightings, and a lot of noise out on the open water to build this E-ticket attraction of insanity. **WARNING** The Meandering Jungle Jet Ski Cruise part of the show is not for the kiddies and not for those sound quality snobs. This is extreme outdoor and impromptu soundseeing podcasting at its finest. Recording at a moment's notice sans windscreen while, occasionally, flying across the water at over 50MPH isn't pretty at times but we do slow down and explore the countryside for most of the experience. Fascinating stuff edited and cleaned up just a bit. Bring your sense of humor to this show or make use of that fast forward feature. Thu, 3 August 2006 **WEAR HEADPHONES OR SUFFER ;)**Back by massively POPULAR DEMAND is my retrospective series covering EPCOT's golden era. On this show, I feature the ORIGINAL Journey into Imagination attraction (1983-1998). The past and present of the attraction will be explored along with a detailed ride description before taking another amazing stereo audio ride thru which is similar to the Horizons ride thru I played on a previous episode. I share my personal memories and feelings over what was one of the most fascinating and somewhat abstract dark rides ever conceived by The Disney company. Sat, 22 July 2006 This show begins with the Meandering Minnie and I making a Kungaloosh in the studio to celebrate one heck of a busy week being done with. After our tasty adult beverage, we review Lou Mongello's latest Disney World Trivia book as his publisher was nice enough to provide us podcasters with a free copy. Before the Meandering Minnie leaves the studio, we feature some in park audio of a few cast members we talked to, learn a bit about the Reedy Creek District, and the C.H.I.P. hotline. As I take the mic solo for the remainder of the show, I discuss that special feeling you have when you first arrive at the parks and feature some great park audio of my buddy Quenton and I arriving at the Disneyland Resort for the first time. We walk down Main Street and end our audio meandering with Quenton's first ride on Space Mountain. He had a great time to say the least and you'll hear that in the ride-thru. Next up, we experience the queue at Space Mountain in Florida. I meander through the Star Tunnel and then play the music featured in both the entrance and exit of the attraction since it is some of my favorite music heard at WDW's Magic Kingdom. One of the tracks I stumbled upon was tagged, "Space Mountain - Impressions" and I ask YOU from which Space Mountain the track comes from. To round things out we visit the Space Mountain launch pad where a GOOD FRIEND seems to have gotten stuck in the space capsule which is ready to blast off! Somebody get a wrench and FAST! Last, we read a few listener emails as the last Horizons episode caused my inbox to be slammed with some amazing feedback. Mon, 10 July 2006 **SERIOUSLY-Headphones HIGHLY Suggested** Join me for a different sort of show as I provide some personal meanderings, musings, and memories of what EPCOT used to be all about. First, I'll provide a brief history of my all time favorite Disney attraction: Horizons. I'll present some interesting details about the attraction along with some RARE audio. To end the Horizons portion of the show, I will play one of the most fascinating pieces of audio I've ever heard dealing with Horizons...a mixdown of source audio which presents a completely accurate ride through of the attraction. Last, we will take a look back on the last remaining great dark ride at EPCOT: Spaceship Earth. We will take a ride thru of the attraction in it's golden days featuring audio narration by Walter Cronkite. I've been waiting a LONG TIME to do a HORIZONS based show as the memory of that attraction is one of the best Disney Park attraction memories I have from my childhood days spent in the parks. I hope this show does it justice. Special Thanks to Martin Smith and George W. (not Bush) for some of the material used in this show. Sat, 1 July 2006 Well, I made it to episode 25. Just WOW! On this show, we first celebrate The Disney Podcast Network and all its
members with Saul. Next, we come full circle and experience an audio
meandering of Disneyland's Tom Sawyer Island as my very first
Meandering Mouse show featured a tour of Disney World's version.
After our Island adventure, we take in Pirates of the Carribean at Walt Disney World with Earl and Patrick right after its first phase of refurb. This is obviously a nod to the grand re-opening of Pirates this month.
To round out this show, we explore a few Disney sound oddities. My
25th show just wouldn't be complete without some whacky sounds and odd
meanderings out at the Disney parks.

Sun, 25 June 2006 This episode is for all those Disney-MGM Studios lovers out there. We begin with a morning meandering over to the park, ride the parking lot tram to the front gates, and experience the rope drop. Once in the park, Patrick runs into Saul during the Star Tours pre-show. We find out that Saul is somewhat of a Star Wars nerd and a fastpass is issued for a fist fight between the two tourists (take special notice Patrick's deadpan reaction to the madness). To continue with the odd humor, we head next door to take in the Muppets 3D Pre-Show which is my favorite part of the entire attraction. Next up, we hitch a ride on that crazy old cursed elevator at The Tower of Terror Meandering Mouse style. Last at the Studios, The Meandering Minnie and I take a whack at Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Play it! Come along with us and test your ability in regurgitating useless knowledge. Sun, 18 June 2006 **Headphones Suggested** This show begins with some truly unique WDW sound oddities. Come along with me as I explore one of the wackiest Disney World attractions: The audio pumped into the different restrooms around the resort. Don't worry because no offensive sounds are heard; just weird audio that accompanies you on your business trips while at the world. There are some other Disney park sound oddities thrown in as a surprise! Next, experience The Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Meandering Minnie and I check the show out for the very first time on our last trip and you're there with us enjoying the show! The audio truly shines for this wonderful live performance. Last, stick around for some great listener feedback...there has been a lot of it lately. This week's show picture is the infamous women's chair toilet up in Disneyland's Club33. Mon, 12 June 2006 **Rated PG-Headphones Suggested** This edition of the Meandering Mouse takes on a different and somewhat of a reflective tone as I prepare my mind and spirit for an upcoming Disneyland trip at the end of August. The audio featured on this episode of The Meandering Mouse is 100% from Disneyland...the original that started it all! First, we revisit some of the very first audio clips I took while I first meandered through Disneyland back in October of 2005. The Meandering Mouse wasn't even thought of at this point because I didn't have a podcast. This type of audio is RARE...I don't know of any other Disney podcasters that have audio recorded of themselves experiencing Disneyland for the very first time. It really takes me back to that special feeling I had walking around alone in Walt's original park for the very first time on a chilly evening in October...I even get LOST which is funny to hear now that I know the parks on both coasts like the back of my hand. The other neat thing in regards to these recordings is that you can hear how the quality of my meanderings have improved over time. To be honest, the quality is quite rough on these early recordings...levels are all over the place and there are some spots with some REALLY NASTY wind and vibration. It is quite listenable though...no doubt about that. After the early first steps into Disneyland recordings, I shift gears and play some newer audio from my trip to DL this past Feb. However, the audio is just of me literally meandering through the park with no purpose. It's fun to come along with me as I take in my surroundings and point out certain details I notice along the way. Next, we visit The Sorcerer's Workshop at The Animation Building in Cali Adventure where myself and my Disneyland Cast Member friend (Toast) take Disney personality tests using the enchanted books in the Beauty and the Beast Library. Last, I leave you with a high quality and fun experience over at Monsters Inc. I think this is one of my best recordings of one of the newest attraction at DL. I finally captured one of my favorite gags and details of the attraction while making my way through the queue area. Mon, 29 May 2006 *Show is RATED PG-13* Okay, I've gotten many emails and have seen many requests on the forums for part two of my interview with my Disneyland cast member friend. I sat down with my buddy out at Disneyland's Grand Californian / California Adventure one afternoon in February and we spoke about his 11 year history with the company. Part one of the interview posted on The Meandering Mouse on March 4, 2006. I find this part of the interview to be MUCH MORE interesting as my friend talks about the current job conditions at Disneyland and how things have changed since the inception of "presenteism." We also discuss something a bit less serious...his favorite and least favorite park attractions. As stated in the topic title, this is a special episode of The Meandering Mouse so there are no soundseeing experiences or goofyness. Enjoy these more serious meanderings as a change of pace for the show. Forum member "Toast" is the person being interviewed. He is an active member at The Disney Podcast Network. Therefore, if you have any questions, post away and I'm sure he will be happy to answer. Thu, 25 May 2006 *Headphones Suggested* This show will begin by wrapping up my April
Disney World trip report with my bud Patrick. We visit the Magic
Kingdom for a crazy Disney park morning ride on Space Mountain, take in
some Magic Kingdom sounds, walk around with Earl from Trapped on
Vacation as he tells us some goofy and interesting cast member stories,
hear The Carousel of Progress during a nasty technical glitch, take a
walk through Disney's Pleasure Island construction zone at night while
experiencing some of the worst music. Next up, The Meandering Minnie
joins us to summarize our recent May trip to Disney World. We discuss
our stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, meeting some Disney Podcast
Network members out at the parks, and experience everyone's favorite
Disney attraction: Stitch's Great Escape. The show ends with some great

Sat, 13 May 2006 *Headphones Suggested* This episode begins with an introduction to The Meandering Minnie Mouse who I will be taking to Walt Disney World this coming week. She tells us what she is looking forward to and we get into some general shenanigans...it's a good laugh for sure. Next up is day three of my ongoing Disney trip report series. I start that with an EPCOT morning which includes a close call with an auto collision while entering EPCOT's parking lot and, of course, the EPCOT rope drop. Come along with us as we are herded like Disney tourist cattle into The Land pavilion in order to retrieve a FastPass for Soarin'. After a morning meandering with me and my pal, experience a ride thru of Test Track and some Disney sound oddities from the Manatee tank at the Living Seas. The last bit of audio weirdness is compliments of Earl from Trapped on Vacation as we hang out at The American Adventure. This show closes with a hustled entry into the Magic Kingdom for a spot on the Tomorrowland bridge to view the Wishes fireworks show above Conderella's castle. Sun, 7 May 2006 *Headphones HIGHLY Suggested* This show wll begin with a summary and audio of my second day of my recent Walt Disney World Trip. It's an Animal Kingdom Morning and a visit to ALL FOUR DISNEY PARKS in one day! During the trip report, I comment on all the changes I noticed on Pirates of the Caribbean since it re-opened for a month after the first phase of rehab. Next up, by popular demand, I feature an insane ride thru of Splash Mountain. I say insane because we had visited ALL FOUR DISNEY PARKS before riding Splash at 1:30 in the morning!!!! We were sorta loopy from walking 15 to 20 some miles and going that long in the Disney parks. I've also got some wild news. Fri, 17 March 2006 This episode is a special encore presentation of my Expedition Everest soundseeing tour I took during the Annual Passholder Preview of the attraction. It originally aired on The Trapped on Vacation show since that's where I started my podcasting adventure. There have been many new listeners to the Meandering Mouse and I consider this one of my best audio pieces to date. Given all that, I want to make sure all listeners of the show have a chance to hear this tour. Join your host, Jeff from Houston, as he experiences Expedition Everest for the very first time. This stereo audio journey takes you from the airport right into Serka Zong for an exploration of, both, the area around the new attraction and the ride itself. Be looking forward to more crazy fun when a normal episode of The Meandering Mouse airs by the start of the new week.

Join your host, Jeff from Houston, as he wanders around Toontown in Disneyland exploring all the whacky distractions and sounds in the area. Afterwards, get your bags packed for a cross country trip to Florida where I visit EPCOT Center's Universe of Energy / Ellen's Energy Adventure. This underappreciated pavilion at EPCOT is top notch in my book and needs no commentary. Therefore, I keep my big mouth shut during this great ride thru. Hear Ellen and Bill Nye the Science Guy as they travel through time experiencing The Big Bang and a bunch of Dinosaurs. Last, our new weekly feature, which highlights those special details found in the Disney parks, is presented. Send in your favorite special Disney park details and comments about the show.

Sat, 4 March 2006 This is part 1 of an interview I did with a very important Disney Cast Member. No, it's not an Imagineer and it's not a Disney Exec. This interview was done with the most important of all cast members. This is the person that has worked the front lines in the parks and has had constant guest interaction. In my opinion, the magic at Disney is created by cast members like this. These are the people responsible for working quite hard to make your Disney Resort trips a special one. Since this is another "special event" episode, look for another show to be released soon that features the normal crazy meanderings you're getting used to here at the podcast. After that, I will release part 2 of this wonderful interview. Thanks to everyone for subscribing and listening! **Headphones A Must** Be Sure to listen to the VERY END of this one. It's time for some live from Walt Disney World Meanderings!! This has to be my all-time favorite live in the park meandering show as it covers Disney's Animal Kingdom at night along with a walk around The World
**Headphone Friendly** In this episode of The Meandering
**Lookie Mom! Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**PG-13 WARNING** Something quite different......along with something familiar.
**WEAR HEADPHONES OR SUFFER ;)**Back by massively POPULAR DEMAND is my retrospective series covering EPCOT's golden era. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**SERIOUSLY-Headphones HIGHLY Suggested** Join me for a different sort of show as I provide some personal meanderings, musings, and memories of what EPCOT used to be all about. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website! Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
**Headphones Suggested** This show begins with some truly unique WDW sound oddities. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the show website!
*Headphones Suggested* This episode begins with an introduction to The Meandering Minnie Mouse who I will be taking to Walt Disney World this coming week.
