Fri, 22 December 2006 **Headphones Highly Suggested** I made it back alive from Mousefest. After spending seven days at Walt Disney World with little sleep, my head is still spinning. Mousefest was an incredible experience filled with memories and time spent with good people. I was also able to grab a lot of fun audio from the gathering. I'll be sharing some of that audio on this show and letting you in on what it was like to be right in the middle of the madness. Last but not least, it's the holiday season and what better way to celebrate than hanging out with the DPN gang at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Most of The DPN gang along with some friends parked ourselves curbside in the hub of The Magic Kingdom on a chilly evening to take in the amazing Christmas parade. Come gather with us in the holday spirit using your earbuds. As a finale to this show, I present the incredible 4 minute Holiday Illuminations. You'll get to experience the explosive mayhem which caps off Reflections of Earth each night during this special season. My mics actually held up to the assault. It's a Christmas miracle! Tue, 12 December 2006 Sneak Preview of Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club at WDW's Magic Kingdom. Posted live from Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs. I was able to catch some of the first sneak previews of Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club here at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom today. The imagineers are testing the attraction and working the bugs out. So far, I'd say the attraction is coming along fairly well and is a somewhat welcome addition to The Magic Kingdom. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not it truly fits into Tomorrowland, though. The show uses similar technology seen at Turtle Talk. There are three Monster comedians who take the stage and interact with the audience. The entire show is projected on three different video screens and one screen is used to pick people out of the crowd as they do in Turtle Talk. Cast Members wander the room with a mic to catch guests interacting with the comedians. Each guest interaction and the gags to go with it help fill the laugh canister which resides on the right side of the stage. The theming in the attraction is well done for the most part. The seating area is clever given that it really looks like a comedy club or lounge. They even have small lounge lamps mounted in front of the seats which sometimes flash with the laughs. My only complaint would be the quality of the animation seems to be lacking a bit. Turtle Talk is animated much more fluid and the images on the screen are more vivid. The projections at Laugh Floor appeared washed out a bit. MANY imagineers were on hand for the previews and were standing in the back of the theater throughout the show. They took a small audience survey at the end of the performance to gauge reaction to the new original characters. I can't seem to find video or audio of this attraction anywhere on the net. Earl from Trapped told me that he thought someone had snagged and posted video of the attraction but I can't find it. Therefore, I am tagging the entire audio captured of the show as a Meandering Mouse Podcast exclusive. If there is, in fact, video of the show floating around, please let me know and I will post a link in the DPN thread for this show. Sun, 3 December 2006 I'm back in the studio right before I leave town
for Mousfest in order to put in a full production of Meandering Mouse
goodness! This show is all about the weirdest and goofiest sound clips
taken at the parks that I could dig up.Highlights Include: -Lots of Meandering Minnie park weirdness and fun in lieu of her birthday this week. -Saul takes two DPN forum members to his special public storage unit. -Disney's version of Borat or The Crazy Russian Guy on Disney's Boardwalk. -Earl and I hustling at Pop Century Resort or the resort I call, "The Disney Dorm Room" (Sorry Scopa Towers Lovers...it's The Disney Dorm Room in my book). Extra thanks to everyone at The DPN Community who has helped prepare everything for Mousefest. I'll see everyone planning to attend down at WDW starting on Thursday the 7th. Comments[6] |
