Fri, 27 June 2008 Doug aka DisneyParkHopper turns in another behind the scenes look at
Disney attractions or what we like to call backstage meanderings:From DisneyParkHopper: In this Backstage Meandering, I take you through the history of two similar locations in Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We look at the space currently occupied by Redd Rocket's Pizza Port and Stitch's Great Escape. The history of these locations can be traced all the way back to the opening of Disneyland. So, come with me as we use ride audio and audio from television specials to explore A Retrospective of Rockets and Alien Encounters. Have fun on your trip! Comments[13] |
Fri, 20 June 2008 **Made for Headphones**Join our old friend Saul, the overly enthusiastic and optimistic tourist, out at Tokyo Disneyland as he spends quality time with his Uncle Coconut. Real simple...We find our odd tourist out at Tokyo Disneyland with his Uncle Coconut. Uncle Coconut tries to sell Saul some prime real estate in the form of a Haunted Mansion and let's just say that I don't think the moving van ever made it to Saul's joint after his tour of the spooky house. Shenanigans and ridiculousness of the highest order....you have been warned. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the website! Tue, 17 June 2008 **RATED PG - Made for Headphones**My good buddy Quenton (Q) and I visited Tokyo for 9 days about 8 months ago. We, of course, spent some good time at the Tokyo Disney resort but also had many weird and wonderful experiences across the Tokyo landscape. We share a somewhat rambling day to day account of our adventures but tie in our experience with staying at The Mira Costa, one of Disney's most luxurious resorts (if not the most luxurious), with DPN'er Superdry's odd letter writing bout with the same hotel. Superdry loves The Mira Costa but has one huge problem with the place. Quenton and I discovered the same problem which led to one the wackiest nights out on the streets of Japan. I am even pretty sure we terribly broke the law by accident. Superdry's first letter of concern and return correspondence with the The Mira Costa occurred a full year ago. A promise was made to occur one year later so he sent another follow-up letter this year. Yesterday Superdry received another letter from the Japanese people at the hotel. The letter has remained unopened until the recording of a segment to be included in this show. We head to one of Houston's weirdest Japanese Karaoke bars called Genji, have some Japanese beers, record Superdry's story, and finally open the letter he received via air mail to see what their response to the second of his zany letters may be. This will be an interesting and long show. Thanks to everyone that has made donations to The Meandering Mouse and The Disney Podcast Network thru the website! Sun, 8 June 2008 Meandering Mouse Club TV - Disney Park Video Adventures from Around the World! Disney's New DVC Resort Hawaii Site Footage. Produced in association with Frikitiki Productions. After it was announced in October 2007 that The Walt Disney Company was going to build a new Disney Vacation Club resort in Hawaii, Joel went out to the site in Oahu and took some video of the plot of land and surrounding area so you can see where the resort is going to be built. Well....This is the footage and give you a little tour. If you happened to have seen Joel's Chief Magic Official video entry, there is some footage of the area in that video too. In the video the degrees, minutes and seconds coordinated are given so you can put them into Google Earth and get a satellite view. Here's hoping that they put in an Adventures Club into the resort. Give it a South Pacific theme and boo-ya, we might have a winner! During the same time frame the Lion King touring company was in Hawaii for a 13 week run (according to Disney this was the longest stay in any one city for one of the traveling tour companies) and they put some of the masks from the show on public display outside of the area of the concert hall where they were performing. You'll get to see them close up. For show feedback you can send e-mail to mmctvpodcast at gmail.com. If you would like to support Meandering Mouse Club TV and the DPN, you can use the paypal links on either http://www.meanderingmouse.com or http://www.thedpn.com websites. Don't forget to leave your feedback in i-tunes. Coming up this fall....plans to visit the Disneyland Paris Resort to get footage for the show! Sat, 31 May 2008 **Made for Headphones**I begin this show with some post Westfest talk with a special guest. The main portion of this show truly is a stream of consciousness. Classic Meanderings...just things sorta unfolding around me and you all are along for the ride. Follow me into Disneyland on a Saturday Morning for the first official Westfest day as DPN podcasters and fans gather at Carnation Plaza to grab schwag, reunite with old friends, make new friends, and kick off Westfest. Chris from The Big D and I also take a ride on Alice in Wonderland after hearing that a cast member running the attraction is a fan of our shows.
